The easy way, and the cool way

So, you need to send a screenshot to another person. Either because they are helping you trouble shoot or you want to make sure everything is entered correct, what ever the reason you don't want to give them your Discord bot token, or your licence key, so what do you do?

Well, you have 2 options, the first is good if you only plan to do this once. Simply select your tokens and keys and delete them, don't save the file, of course. But we can do better, can't we?

You're damn right we can!

I'm glad you asked, because there is a really easy way to make your screenshots look nice and still blur out sensitive info.

To start, let's download ShareX. ShareX is a free and open-source screen capture and file sharing tool for Windows. It allows users to take screenshots, record screen activity, and upload files or captured content to a wide variety of online services. ShareX is highly customizable, offering advanced workflows, automation, and editing features.

After you have downloaded and installed the program, it should open up automatically, if not head to your search bar and type "ShareX" and open the program, it could have also opened and minimised to your system tray, you can find it down here, right click and "open main window".

Under the "After Capture Tasks" make sure "Open in image editor" and "Copy image to clipboard" are enabled. (I have a CDN website so mine is set to upload image to host, you do not need this.)

Now we can set up some hotkeys, go into the "Hotkey settings" and set "Capture region" to your preferred key bind. I use ctrl+shift+c.

Use your hotkey to take a screenshot of your config file, then select either Blur or Pixelate in the tools bar, and drag the square over your keys and tokens. You can also add text, arrows, boxes, order numbers, and more. ShareX is a really powerful screenshot program.

This is what your final image should look like, it should have copied to your clipboard after clicking the green check mark so you can paste it into discord or other websites with ctrl+v
