Installing Server-Sided EUP - The Right Way

In this short document I will show you the correct way to install server-sided EUP.

It all starts with one of two things, either a subscription to the CFX Patreon or a server with sv_maxclients set to 10 or less. After that is completed lets move on to the fun stuff.

Step 1: Getting the EUP files

We need to get the base EUP game files, you can get the latest update from Alex Ashfold's Patreon or you can get this version from The CFX Forums. Please note, this version is outdated and will continue to become further from full release EUP as time goes on. It is strongly recommended to subscribe to Alex to not only get the latest version of EUP with all the cool features but also to support Alex in making EUP so he continues to do so.

Step 2: Uploading the files onto your server

After downloading the files, depending on your internet speeds this could take some time. For me it took around 3-5 minutes, but I have fairly good internet speeds. Either way we need to open the archive, for this I am going to use WinRAR however you can also use Window's built in ZIP browser. You also want to open your server files, as I have a VPS I will be using Filezilla a FTP client to remote into my files. Navigate to your resources folder and create a new one called [EUP], The [] are very important please do not leave them out. Now simple drag in your eup-stream folder from the EUP download in WinRAR. This could take some time but after it finishes you want to open the folder until you see all the EUP .ydd and .ytd files.

Step 3: The step to solve all your future problems

We are not done yet, we actually need to do one more thing that will be super important later when you ever want to remove a piece of replacement EUP. Make a new folder and call it default and drag all of the files in the stream folder into it, then create one more folder called [1] and drag the default folder we just made into that. So in the end it should look something like this.

Default folder

The reason we are doing this is so the default clothing starts first, and then your replacements will start after therefore you will not be replacing default files.

Step 5: Custom EUP

Now that you have the default EUP installed it is time to get any custom EUP installed. The base way to do this is to keep your folders organized and name them accordingly. In this case I made a folder called civ for all the civ clothing, drag any of your files into this folder and upon a server restart your clothing should replace over the default EUP; and if you ever want to revert back all you have to do is delete the files in the CIV folder and as we didn't touch the default ydd's and ytd's you won't have to reinstall EUP.
